Entry Requirements

  • STPM/A-Level: Grades BBB, ABC or AAC  in 3 subjects : Biology and Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics)
  • Asasi Sains from Public Universities at Malaysia / MOE Matriculation: CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in 3 subjects : Biology, Chemistry,  Physics or Mathematics
  • Pre-Medical Foundation in Science: CGPA 3.0 (out of 4.0) in 3 subjects : Biology and Chemistry and Physics & Mathematics AND Provided the course is not less than 1 year in the same accredited institution AND the minimum entry qualification is 5 Bs each in Biology and Chemistry and Physics and Mathematics or Additional Mathematic and another subject at School Certificate level or its equivalent. 
  • UEC: Grade  B4 each in 5 subjects : Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Additional Mathematics
  • CIMP/CPU/Canadian Grade 12/13: Average of 80% in any 3 subjects : Biology and Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics) 
  • MUFY/UNSW Foundation/Western Australia Curriculum Council (AUSMAT)/HSC Sydney Australia/Trinity College Foundation Studies/Australian Universities Foundation Programmes/South Australian Matriculation (SAM)/Victorian Certificate of Education, Australia Year 12: Aggregate or average of 80% or the equivalent of B  in any 3 subjects :
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics or Mathematics
  • NCEA Level 3 / New Zealand Bursary: Average 80% in any 3 subject : Biology and Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics)
  • Indian Pre-university: Average 70%  in any 3 subjects :Biology and Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB): 30 points with a minimum of 2 science subjects or Mathematics at Higher Level (HL) and 1 science subject at Standard Level AND attained a minimum score of 4 each in Biology and Chemistry and Physics (or Mathematics)
  • Diploma in Health Science: CGPA 3.50 (out of 4) AND Provided the course is not less than 5 semesters or 2 ½ years in same accredited institution AND the minimum entry qualification in 2 Bs each in Biology and Chemistry and Physics and Mathematics or Additional Mathematic and other subject at School Certificate or its equivalent.
  • Degree in  Health or Pure Applied Science: CGPA 3.30 (out of 4) – 5 years medical programme
  • Degree in  Health or Pure or Applied Science: CGPA 3.3 (out of 4.0) – 4-year graduate entry medical programme
  • Degree in Arts or Humanities: CGPA 3.50 (out of 4) – 4 year graduate entry medical programme
  • Degree in Arts or Humanities: CGPA 3.75 (out of 4)- 5 year medical programme AND Cs in 3 of the following subject Biology or Chemistry or Physics or Mathematic or Additional Mathematics at SPM or its equivalent OR credited bridging course.

  • Pharmacology , Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine & Clinical Skills

Semester 5 to 10

  • Clinical Subjects

The first phase of 2 ½ years (5 semesters) is conducted in the Manipal Campus in India. The basic sciences and pre-clinical subjects are covered in 4 semesters. During the 5th semester, students commence their clinical training. This semester in India exposes them to the morbidity profile related to the prevailing socio-economic conditions. 

The second phase of 5 semesters (2½ years) is at the Melaka Campus, Malaysia. Clinical training is undertaken at the Melaka General Hospital,  Hospital Pakar Sultanah Fatimah, Jasin Hospital, Tangkak Hospital and at the Community Health Centres. The academic programme is student-centred with emphasis on self-directed learning, group discussions and problem-based learning.
